Response rate for guys online dating
I've had windows where I was in no hurry, but only messaging women who were particularly special--I've had occasional stretches like that with 100% response rates. But there have been times when I just want to fill my calendar, so I write more messages, less selectively. If you want a general sense of where you fall, OK Trends is useful. I agree with you OP long messages rarely ever work for me. If they don't, it's a good indication that the person wouldn't have responded anyway. I never kept track of my response rate, but should have. I'm fairly picky about whom I message though so it wasn't a very big pool.Figure out where you fit demographically and compare your response rate to people of roughly the same age, race and attractiveness. However, I get messaged more often first at 58 (excluding obvious scams and cam girls) which I have responded to 14 of them. I get about 40-50% response rate and about 50% of those turn into dates.

You're committing a logical fallacy here by assuming that the 2-line C/P messages have a better response rate. There are a lot of people who will get responses to "Hey, how's it going? " But there are a lot of people who get better results with a more meaningful conversation starter. (secretly wanted to anyway)Out of 17 sent messages, 7 returned. This comes down to 6 relationships from the internet over the past 5 years of active internet dating.
Those women were obviously attracted to you and would've replied to a thoughtful message as well. I only write the "better" messages if there profile has something interesting/creative to write back about. I send out very few messages and make sure they reference their profile in some way.
I'm always baffled by the funny spellings and the creative phrases they use, especially while I'm staring at my monitor trying to come up with an eight letter word that will live with me the entire time I'm on the site.
Rest assured, you don't need to come up with an award-winning screen name to attract attention.
