Once I have no idea why the regular way of updating MSSE breaks on some systems, but now that I’ve been running the above script on my machines every night, MSSE is staying up to date pretty nicely.

Cause 1: You might have another Antivirus programs installed while you are installing MSE.

Solution 1: Uninstall all the other Antivirus programs before installing MSE and try again, this should resolve the 0x80070643 error.

Be careful you download the correct version for your computer.

If you’re not sure if you have 32bit or 64bit, right-click “Computer” (on the start menu) and choose “Properties”.
